Insurance & Billing • Clear, Honest, in English
One of the biggest fears tourists have about medical care abroad isn’t the care itself — it’s the bill. We keep it simple. At our clinic we don’t bill insurance directly; you pay at time of service in USD or major card, and we give you a fully itemized English invoice with diagnostic and treatment codes to submit to your travel insurer for reimbursement. For larger hospital-level care, our partner hospital works with a wide network of insurers, and we help you verify yours before you commit.
Two Levels of Care · Two Billing Models
Walk-in visits, house calls, video consults, IV therapy, lab tests, nurse visits and pharmacy delivery are quoted in U.S. dollars before treatment. Payment at the time of service (cash USD/MXN or major credit card). You receive a fully itemized invoice in English with diagnostic and procedure codes. That invoice is what your travel insurer needs to reimburse you. Self-pay is the fastest, cleanest path for everyday care — no insurance phone calls, no paperwork delays, no surprises.
For major emergencies and inpatient care, our partner hospital — a leading internationally certified private hospital in Los Cabos — works with a wide network of national and international insurers. Before any non-immediate hospital step, we help you contact your insurer's assistance line, share the medical documentation, and request pre-authorization. We can't promise a particular insurer will direct-bill on the day, but we make sure the right questions are asked, in English, before you commit.
A reimbursable invoice has to be specific. Yours will include:
If your insurer needs anything else after you submit, contact us — we will provide the additional documentation in English at no charge.
Most international travel-insurance policies — Allianz, GeoBlue, IMG, Aetna International, Cigna Global, World Nomads, Manulife, Blue Cross Canada, and many others — reimburse medically necessary urgent care, prescriptions, ambulance and emergency hospitalization, subject to your policy’s terms. We are not your insurer; what we promise is the part we control: a clear, code-rich invoice and prompt help with follow-up questions. The actual reimbursement amount and timeline depend entirely on your policy, your deductible and your insurer’s review.
Practical tip: the moment you decide to call us, also call your travel insurer’s 24/7 emergency assistance line (the number on the back of your card or in your policy app). Many policies require notification within 24 hours of an emergency or hospitalization to preserve full benefits.
Air ambulance and medical repatriation from Mexico to the U.S. or Canada typically run between US $25,000 and US $60,000 out of pocket. Many quality travel-insurance policies include emergency medical evacuation and repatriation benefits of $250,000 to $1,000,000 — pre-approval is almost always required. We help you contact your insurer’s assistance line, gather the medical documents they request, and arrange the receiving hospital so the evacuation can be authorized. Verify your travel insurance includes medical evacuation and repatriation with at least $250,000 for Mexico.
Without it, an air-ambulance flight home can cost out of pocket what a year of premium would have covered. The CDC recommends it explicitly for international travel.

You will see a lot of clinics in Cabo claim they “accept all insurances.” We won’t, because for a small clinic in a tourist destination it is almost never true. Here is how we draw the line:
That’s not less helpful, it’s more honest — and it’s the framing your insurer will recognize as legitimate when it reviews your claim.
