Which lab does Cabo Walk-In Clinic use to process samples?
We partner with a CAP/ISO 15189-accredited reference lab in Los Cabos. Samples are transported in temperature-controlled containers within 90 minutes of being drawn. Specific partner lab name available on request.
How long until I get my results?
Most panels are reported within 24 hours of the draw. Hormone and specialized panels can take 48 hours. STI PCR panels may take 48–72 hours depending on the markers.
In what language are the results?
Every report is delivered in English with reference ranges and the doctor’s notes. Spanish-language reports are available on request for filing with Mexican insurers.
Do I need to fast before the draw?
For Lipid Panel, HbA1c, and Glucose-containing panels, an 8–12 hour fast is recommended. Hormone panels are best drawn in the morning between 7–10 AM. Our concierge will tell you what to do when you book.
Can I use my US or Canadian travel insurance to be reimbursed?
Yes. We issue an itemized invoice in English with CPT-style codes that customers have successfully submitted to Allianz, GeoBlue, IMG, Aetna International, and Cigna Global. We are not a direct biller — payment is collected at the time of service.
Are the tests CLIA-equivalent quality?
Yes. The reference lab we partner with is CAP-accredited and ISO 15189-certified, which are the international equivalents of the US CLIA standard. The methodologies (LC/MS for testosterone, NAAT for STI panels) are the same major US labs use.
Is the draw painful or messy in a hotel room?
No. Our RNs draw thousands of samples a year, and the entire process is under 15 minutes — sterilize the site, draw with a butterfly needle, label, transport. Sealed sharps container leaves with the nurse. No mess, no stains, no leftover materials.
Can you treat what the test finds?
For findings within our scope (low Vitamin D, mild anemia, common STIs with available doctor-ordered medications), our Home Doctor and Pharmacy & Delivery services can coordinate doctor-ordered medications and deliver in the same visit. For complex findings we’ll coordinate with a specialist or your home physician.
Are lab tests a substitute for a doctor’s visit?
No. Lab tests are diagnostic data that require interpretation by a licensed physician. We include a doctor review of abnormal flags. For a full evaluation, book a Home Doctor visit.
What if I want to schedule a draw before I arrive in Cabo?
You can book by WhatsApp or phone up to 30 days ahead. We confirm with your hotel/villa concierge 24 hours before and arrive at the scheduled window.
