Medical Disclaimer

Please read carefully before using this Service
This page contains important medical and legal information. Please read it before booking a consultation.
1. NOT for medical emergencies
If you are experiencing a medical emergency — chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, stroke symptoms, anaphylaxis, suicidal thoughts, severe trauma, or any life-threatening condition — STOP using this Service and call 911 (US) or your local emergency services IMMEDIATELY.
International medical consultation is appropriate only for non-emergency conditions.
2. NOT a substitute for primary care
This Service does not replace your U.S.-based primary care physician (PCP). For ongoing chronic conditions — diabetes management, hypertension long-term care, mental health treatment plans, cancer follow-up — we strongly recommend you maintain a relationship with a US-licensed clinician.
3. NOT U.S. state-licensed telemedicine
Cabo Walk-In Clinic provides international medical consultation from physicians licensed by COFEPRIS (Mexico’s federal health regulator) under Mexican Norma Oficial Mexicana NOM-024-SSA3-2012. We do not hold U.S. state medical licenses and we do not claim to. The Service operates from Mexico to patients who elect to consult an international physician.
4. Controlled substances policy
We do NOT prescribe DEA Schedule II controlled substances under any circumstances. This includes:
- Opioids (OxyContin, Vicodin, Percocet, fentanyl, morphine, etc.)
- Stimulants (Adderall, Ritalin, Vyvanse, Concerta)
- Benzodiazepines (Xanax, Klonopin, Ativan, Valium)
- Z-drugs (Ambien, Lunesta, Sonata)
For these medications you require an in-person U.S.-licensed clinician.
5. Off-label and shared decision-making
Off-label medication use — including GLP-1 agonists (Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro) prescribed for indications other than their primary FDA-approved indication — is a patient-physician shared decision based on your individual clinical picture, risk-benefit assessment, and informed consent. Outcomes are not guaranteed and individual results vary.
6. Evidence-based practice
Our physicians follow current clinical practice guidelines and evidence-based medicine. No clinical decision can guarantee a specific outcome. The physician–patient relationship and the consultation that results are subject to the inherent uncertainties of clinical practice.
7. Adults 18+ only
The Service is intended for adults 18 years and older. Pediatric consultations are available by special arrangement via WhatsApp and require a parent or guardian present, with the parent/guardian as the booking party.
8. No physician-patient relationship until consultation
Visiting this website, reading content, or booking a consultation does not by itself establish a physician-patient relationship. A relationship is established only at the start of your video consultation, when an identified COFEPRIS-licensed physician begins evaluating you.
9. Limitations of video consultation
Video consultation has inherent limitations — we cannot perform physical examination, listen to your lungs, or order in-clinic labs. Some conditions require in-person evaluation. Our physician will tell you when in-person care is needed and refund the consultation accordingly.
10. Pharmacy fulfillment
If you receive a prescription, our network pharmacy partner can fulfill within Mexico. We do not directly operate or own a pharmacy and we do not act as a pharmacy or pharmacy benefit manager.
11. Contact for medical questions
If you have questions about the appropriateness of the Service for your specific situation, contact us at care@cabowalkinclinic.com or +52 624 409 5065 before booking.
12. Acknowledgment
By booking a consultation, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and accepted this Medical Disclaimer.
