What’s actually included in the $59

When you pay $59, the visit includes:

The video consultation itself — typically 15 minutes with a COFEPRIS-licensed bilingual physician, board-certified, with international medical malpractice coverage. The doctor evaluates your symptoms, asks clarifying questions, and discusses treatment options with you in plain English or Spanish.

A written care plan delivered to your patient portal within 5 minutes of the call ending. This includes the doctor’s assessment, recommendations, any prescriptions issued, follow-up guidance, and “go to the ER immediately if…” red-flag instructions.

A Mexican prescription (Receta Médica) when clinically appropriate. The Rx is issued under Mexican law by your treating physician and can be filled at CMC Pharmacy Cabo (60-minute delivery if you’re in Cabo San Lucas) or via licensed mail-order to your US address under the FDA personal-use rule.

A digital doctor’s note on request, delivered as a PDF to your email within 30 minutes of the visit ending. The note is signed, includes the doctor’s Cédula Profesional, and is accepted by most US employers and schools as documentation of a medical visit.

An itemized receipt suitable for HSA / FSA submission or out-of-network insurance reimbursement attempts. (Reimbursement is not guaranteed by your insurer.)

What’s not included: the cost of medication itself (billed by the pharmacy that fills your prescription) and in-person services like lab work or imaging (available at our Cabo San Lucas clinic at separate, transparent pricing).

How Cabo Walk-In Clinic compares to other telemedicine services

We built our pricing to be transparent and predictable. Here’s how a single video visit costs across the major US telemedicine brands, paid in cash (no insurance):

Service Cash-pay per visit Subscription? Bilingual? Cross-border? Hidden fees?
Cabo Walk-In Clinic $59 No ✓ Native ✓ US + Mexico None
Sesame Care $32–$100 No Variable ✗ US only Optional add-ons
Teladoc $89 Optional plans ✗ Limited ✗ US only Specialty visits higher
MDLive $82 No ✗ Limited ✗ US only Therapy + psychiatry separately priced
PlushCare $129 (first visit free for some plans) $19.99/mo required for full access Membership auto-renews
Doctor On Demand $99 No Therapy $179, psychiatry $299
Amwell $89 Insurance-led Specialty $129+
Hims/Hers Variable Auto-renew Rx subscription Aggressive upsells reported
Lemonaid $25 (very limited scope) Per-condition Add-ons priced separately

Sources reviewed for this comparison: each company’s published 2026 cash-pay pricing as of June 2026, Trustpilot and BBB complaint volume related to billing. Pricing may change; we update this page monthly.

Why we’re not the cheapest — and why that’s the point

You’ll notice Sesame Care can be as low as $32 and Lemonaid is $25. Those are real prices, but the experience is different. Sesame’s lower-priced visits are typically with newer providers, in 5-10 minute windows, and English-only. Lemonaid only handles a narrow list of conditions with a checkbox flow — no real video evaluation.

Our $59 is the sweet spot: high enough to attract experienced, bilingual, board-certified physicians who can spend 15 unhurried minutes with you, and low enough that it’s a third of an average US urgent-care visit. We’re 40% cheaper than Teladoc, 54% cheaper than PlushCare, and roughly 1/10th the cost of a typical American ER copay — without insurance hassles.

Cabo Care+ membership — when it’s worth it

The Cabo Care+ annual membership is $149 per year, and gives you:

Break-even math: the membership pays for itself once you book your 4th visit in a year. If you’re a snowbird, an expat, a frequent traveler, or a family with kids, that’s easy to hit. If you’re a one-and-done patient, just pay the $59 — no pressure to enroll.

Money-back guarantee — what it actually covers

If our doctor determines that your concern cannot be addressed by video consultation, your $59 is automatically refunded within 72 hours. Examples:

✓ Your symptoms suggest a condition requiring in-person physical exam, imaging, or lab work → full refund, with a recommendation for appropriate in-person care.

✓ You need a medication we cannot prescribe by cross-border telemedicine (Schedule II controlled substances, Z-drugs, benzodiazepines) → full refund.

✓ The visit lasted less than 5 minutes because we triaged you straight to the ER → full refund.

✓ You’re dissatisfied with the conduct or quality of the visit → request a refund within 72 hours, no questions asked.

What the money-back guarantee is not: it’s a service-quality refund, not a medical-outcome refund. It does not guarantee a cure, a particular diagnosis, or a prescription. It does not waive any statutory rights you have under Mexican or US consumer-protection law. If your symptoms don’t resolve after a visit but the visit was delivered competently, we’ll credit your next visit instead of refunding the first.

Payment methods accepted

We do not bill US insurance directly. We do not participate in Medicare or Medicaid. We do not auto-charge or store your card without explicit consent for the Cabo Care+ membership.

What about HSA / FSA reimbursement?

Telemedicine visits with a licensed physician are typically HSA / FSA eligible for US residents. Our itemized receipt includes the doctor’s name and Cédula Profesional, the date of service, the service description (“International telemedicine consultation”), and the amount paid in USD. We provide this automatically via email after every visit.

Each plan administrator has its own rules on international telemedicine reimbursement. We recommend checking with yours before your first visit. If they reject the claim, your visit cost stays the same — there’s no “missed reimbursement” surcharge from us.

Frequently asked questions about pricing

Is $59 really all I pay?

Yes. $59 covers the entire video visit, written care plan, Mexican prescription (if appropriate), and digital doctor’s note (if requested). The only thing the $59 does not cover is the cost of medication itself — that’s billed by the pharmacy that fills your Rx.

Will I be auto-enrolled in a subscription?

No. We do not auto-enroll any patient in any recurring charge. The optional Cabo Care+ membership is opt-in only, and can be cancelled anytime with a pro-rated refund.

What does the travel-medicine consult include for $79?

A 25-minute consultation with a physician experienced in travel medicine. Topics covered: pre-trip prescriptions (Cipro or azithromycin for traveler’s diarrhea, anti-malarials if visiting endemic areas, altitude medications for high-altitude destinations, motion sickness medication), vaccination guidance, travel kit recommendations, and destination-specific health risks. The doctor will issue Mexican prescriptions for medications you’d want to bring with you.

Why is mental health $99?

Mental health video sessions are 45 minutes (vs. 15 for standard) and require additional credentialing for our counselors. The $99 covers a full evaluation. We can prescribe SSRIs and non-controlled options, but not benzodiazepines or Z-drugs via cross-border telemedicine.

Do you offer family pricing?

The Cabo Care+ membership covers up to 4 household members for $149/year. For a one-off visit for a family member without membership, each person pays $59. Pediatric visits (age 2+) are the same $59 price, with a parent present.

What if I’m in a different country than the US or Mexico?

We currently serve patients in the United States and Mexico. If you’re traveling in a third country and need a video consultation, we will accept the booking but the doctor cannot issue prescriptions filled outside our pharmacy network. Pricing is the same $59.

Can I get a refund if I cancel before the visit?

Yes. Cancellation more than 30 minutes before your scheduled visit is fully refunded. Cancellation within 30 minutes is credited to a future visit. No-show without cancellation is non-refundable (we held a doctor’s slot for you).

What if I need lab work or X-ray after the video visit?

In-person follow-up in Cabo San Lucas is priced separately at our clinic: basic blood panel from $45 USD, X-ray from $80 USD, IV therapy from $135 USD. If you’re in the US, the doctor will refer you to a local provider — billing and pricing are between you and that provider.

Is the $59 a launch price that’s going up?

No. $59 is our standard 2026 published pricing. We commit publicly that any future price changes will be announced 30 days in advance to current Cabo Care+ members.

Is the price the same in Spanish or English?

Yes. Identical pricing whether you book in English or Spanish, whether the visit is with a doctor whose native language is Spanish or who is bilingual from the US. No upcharge for “premium” language matching.
