What to Bring to a Hospital in Cabo — A Tourist’s Checklist

If you or a travel companion is heading to the ER in Cabo, having the right documents and supplies on hand smooths every step. Here is the practical packing list.

Identification documents

Passport (or ID), driver’s license, travel-insurance card, copy of policy if available.

Medical information

List of current medications with doses, list of allergies, medical history summary, contact info for your primary doctor at home, recent EKG or imaging if cardiac history.

Financial preparation

Credit card for the deposit/copay. Smaller amount of cash (USD/MXN). Bank info if a wire transfer is needed.

Comfort items

Phone charger (Mexican outlets are same as USA/Canada), laptop or tablet for entertainment if admission, change of clothes, toiletries, glasses, basic personal items.

For the family/companion
